Overview:
SS&C Technologies Holdings, Inc. is an American multinational financial technology company that sells software and software as a service to the financial services industry. For more than 25 years, their TRAC® retirement account servicing platform has helped recordkeepers drive more efficient processes, move critical yet formerly cumbersome procedures online, and implement a flexible platform for growth. The platform services 400k plans and 12m+ participants.

The Problem:
SS&C's new clients needed loan refinancing functionality in TRAC® because it was available in their former record keeping tool.

The Goal:
Make it easy for participants to refinance a loan online. It would benefit the user because it will:

  1. Increase participant's self-servicing capabilities
  2. Expand participant's access to retirement plan loans
  3. Support permitted IRS loan regulations

Understanding the Functionality:
I created a user flow to understand the steps the user will go through in the loan refinance process within the Loan & Withdrawals section.

Sketches:
I sketched to figure out how the user would interact with the loan refinance process.

Technical Constraints:
I wrote out the technical constraints to keep them in my mind while I designed the UI.

The Solution:
Following our design and technical constraits, I designed the interface to have quick indicators of terms of the loan, in the left side bar.
