Overview:
SS&C Technologies Holdings, Inc. is an American multinational financial technology company that sells software and software as a service to the financial services industry. Their ConnectIQ® platform (formerly known as Wealth Connect®), unifies advisor tools and data to improve outreach, track engagement and deliver stronger client outcomes.
The Problem:
After redesigning the platform with integrated AI prompts that delivered participant data quicker to Advisors, I wondered What might a future state look like? I was thinking a more dynamic breath of information, analytics and tools at the Advisors' fingertips with AI insights and actionable metrics.
The Goal:
Reimage the ConnectIQ® platform with more dynamic AI-informed data and insights. To interate faster, use an established DMS and Figma Make to conceptualize components.
Competitive Analysis:
I researched two AI-informed Advisor platforms; RPAG and RetirementLens and I used a LLM to synthesize the data.
The Gap: RPAG is the incumbent but AI is clearly an afterthought for them — their "Auto Assistant" feels bolted on. RetirementLens has genuine AI chops but it's narrowly focused on Form 5500 prospecting data and doesn't serve the advisor workflow at all. Neither is building an AI-native experience for the advisor relationship.
Think like an Advisor:
I asked the question what would an advisor need from this tool? I did some desktop research with reputable sources and used a LLM to synthesize the information. Here is that overview:
The Result:
The product manager is in the midst of reviewing this new reimaged version of ConnectIQ and her initial response is very positive. More research and user testing are going to be the next steps.
